The National Electrification Administration (NEA) through its Board of Administrators (NEA BOA) issued a Decision ordering the removal of BENECO’s Board of Directors based on findings of long-standing irregularities in the management of BENECO.

Several electric cooperatives (ECs) heeded the call of the National Electrification Administration (NEA) Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda to help save ailing electric cooperatives in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

A total of 47,000 electric meters with an estimated value of Php47 Million will be donated by some ECs in Luzon and Visayas to Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LASURECO) and Maguindanao Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MAGELCO).

The Federation of Rural Electric Cooperatives in Region VIII (FRECOR 8) pledged a total of 12,500 electric meters to Maguindanao Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MAGELCO)

The donation was a result of a meeting of NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda with the General Managers and Board Directors of Region VIII ECs.

Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph Marcos Manotoc visited the office of the National Electrification Administration on Tuesday, 03 January 2023.

Gov. Manotoc had a meeting with NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda, Deputy Administrators Engr. Ernesto O. Silvano, Jr. and Atty. Omar M. Mayo, and Acting Deputy Administrator Leila B. Bonifacio on the power rate issue in Ilocos Norte.

The National Electrification Administration (NEA) gathered key officials of Electric Cooperatives (ECs) from Region VI, VII and VIII in a seminar that aims to capacitate their newly elected Board of Directors, and newly appointed General Managers and Officer-in-Charge in understanding the Electric Power Industry.

Former Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Commissioner Atty. Josefina Patricia M. Asirit served as the speaker at the Power 101 Seminar Series. The discussion focused on the basic concepts of the Philippine Energy Sector, the electric power system, and the historical perspective of the Electric Power Industry.
