For the first time since his appointment, NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda visited an electric cooperative today, 26 November 2022.

Administrator Almeda joined Nueva Ecija I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NEECO I) in celebrating its 49th founding anniversary. In his speech, he congratulated NEECO I for its achievements in the rural electrification industry.

"Ako'y nagpapasalamat sa inyong dedikasyon at pagtutulungan, at dahil sa inyo ay nakikita ang pag-unlad ng probinsya ng Nueva Ecija," the NEA Chief said.

He also highlighted the importance of NEA's partnership with the 121 electric cooperatives nationwide in achieving sustainable rural development. "Ilalaan ko ang aking oras para siguraduhin na ang nabuong samahan ng National Electrification Administration at ng mga electric cooperatives gaya ng NEECO I ay makakatulong sa pag-unlad ng ating bayan at magdala ng ginhawa sa buhay ng sambayanang Pilipino," he added.

The NEA Administrator was accompanied by Deputy Administrator for EC Management Services Atty. Omar M. Mayo and Deputy Administrator for Technical Services Engr. Ernesto O. Silvano, Jr. They were welcomed by the officials and employees of NEECO I headed by Officer-In-Charge General Manager Von Richard R. Labios, Multi-Sectoral Executive Council Chairman Rev. Fr. Antonio A. Mangahas, Jr. and Central Luzon Electric Cooperatives Association (CLECA) President Reynaldo V. Villanueva.

Coinciding with the anniversary celebration was the conduct of NEECO I's 31st Annual General Membership Assembly, and the blessing and inauguration of its drive-thru payment centers in its Main Office and Gapan District Office.###
