The National Electrification Administration (NEA) under its new leadership, assures the stakeholders of the rural electrification sector that only the most qualified individuals will manage the electric cooperatives nationwide to make them globally competitive.
A proper and fair selection process is followed at all times just like in the recent appointments of the Project Supervisor and Acting General Managers of Isabela I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ISELCO I) and Isabela II Electric Cooperative (ISELCO II).
NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda designated Atty. Oswaldo Gabat of the NEA Legal Services Office as the new Project Supervisor of ISELCO I and ISELCO II. Meanwhile, Atty. Karen Abuan was selected as the Acting General Manager of ISELCO I. She was installed today, 29 November 2022, after the ISELCO I management committee expressed full support for her appointment. Likewise, the Board of Directors of ISELCO II confirmed and accepted the designation of Acting General Manager Engr. Erni Baggao, yesterday, 28 November 2022.
The appointments of the Project Supervisor and Acting General Managers were also approved by the NEA Board of Administrators. It is in compliance with the rules and guidelines in selecting the most competent officials.
Administrator Almeda is committed to drive sustainable rural development in the country through creating and maintaining high-performing electric cooperatives. To achieve this, the NEA Chief is soliciting as well the cooperation and support of the electric cooperatives and the different organizations in the electric distribution industry and various consumer groups for a more effective and efficient service to the consumer public.
