President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has appointed former Misamis Oriental I Rural Electric Service Cooperative, Inc. (MORESCO 1) General Manager (GM) Engr. Jovel Ubay-Ubay as acting Member of the National Electrification Administration (NEA) Board of Administrators.
Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla administered the oath of Engr. Ubay-Ubay as a new board member on Monday, 31 March 2025, at the Department of Energy (DOE) office in Taguig City with NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda as witness.

The National Electrification Administration (NEA) has rolled out a series of regional summits and workshops aimed at enhancing all plans of electric cooperatives (ECs) related to disaster resiliency and response.
The NEA through its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (DRRMD) has been leading this initiative, which cover the formulation, updating, and approval of the ECs’ Emergency Response Plan, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment, Mitigation Plan, and Resiliency Compliance Plan.

The National Electrification Administration (NEA) challenged its partner electric cooperatives (ECs) this week to approach their mission of electrifying the countryside with a renewed sense of commitment after their attendance at the 2025 PowerXchange convention in Atlanta, Georgia.
NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda delivered this message on Wednesday, 12 March 2025, during a Filipino night hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), which organized the annual international conference.
“We have to put in our heart and mind that we are the gamechangers. You are the gamechangers. So please, let’s give it our best in doing what we are doing right now,” Administrator Almeda said in his speech addressed to Filipino delegates at the Georgia World Congress Center.
