The National Electrification Administration (NEA) has rolled out a series of regional summits and workshops aimed at enhancing all plans of electric cooperatives (ECs) related to disaster resiliency and response.
The NEA through its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (DRRMD) has been leading this initiative, which cover the formulation, updating, and approval of the ECs’ Emergency Response Plan, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment, Mitigation Plan, and Resiliency Compliance Plan.
The regional three-day summit and workshops have been organized into six legs. The main objective is to assist the ECs in upgrading their plans, reflecting the evolving needs of their respective organizations.
NEA-DRRMD Acting Department Manager Engr. Eric Campoto said the sessions do not just gather rural electrification stakeholders, but are “critical steps towards shaping the future of our energy infrastructure and the safety and well-being of the communities we serve.”
