NEA Administrator gathers ABDEC officers and members

On February 7, 2017, NEA Administrator Edgardo R. Masongsong met some 835 officers and members of the Association of Board of Directors of Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (ABDEC) coming from 41 electric cooperatives (ECs) at the H.E.S.A., 2nd Floor, Quezon City. This activity is part of the Administrator’s agenda for the EC organizations to become more unified and stronger to confront the numerous challenges in the Rural Electrification (RE) movement.
Administrator Masongsong said, “EC organizations, like ABDEC, can make a difference in the lives of our member-consumer-owners (MCOs). Every association member has to cooperate in building up all operational aspects of their association in order to better respond to the needs of the MCOs. If you want sustainability, your organization must encourage people participation and empower them to voice out their aspirations through the establishment of the EC MCO Empowerment Program (MCEP) and the National Center for Electric Cooperative Consumer Owners(NCECCO).”
